Baby Showers

Baby showers
with room to breatheBaby Shower Venue — Virginia Beach Oceanfront

A room you borrow for the afternoon and hand back — big windows, a floor plan you choose, and lunch that arrives from a few doors down.

The Room

Somebody else’s house

The trouble with hosting a baby shower at home is that home is where everyone already is. The kitchen fills up, the chairs run out, and the person being celebrated ends up carrying plates to the sink. Arboretum is a room you borrow for the afternoon and hand back at the end of it.

It is one open space with big windows, so it photographs well in the middle of the day, and it takes whatever palette the nursery is going in. Bring your own florals, banners and games; the room will be ready, neutral, and nobody’s to tidy but ours.

How the room is set

Layout
Rounds for a seated lunch, a long table for a grazing spread, or lounge groupings if you want people circulating. You set it; the room does not set it for you.
Comfort
Warm daytime light through big windows, dimmable if the afternoon runs on, and enough floor plan that everyone gets to sit down.
The gifts
Space for a gift table, and a spot for the parents-to-be to open them without an audience pressed in on all sides.

Food & Drink

Lunch handled,
a few doors down

Arboretum shares Laskin Road with two restaurants under the same roof of hospitality. Book the room and you can bring their kitchens with it — one point of contact, menus built for your headcount, and food that arrives hot from a few doors down. Working with an outside caterer instead is welcome too; we’ll share the prep space and house rules on your tour.

Pacifica

Tapas & Cocktails — 328 Laskin Road

Hot and cold tapas, grazing boards, and a thoughtful bar.

Right for a come-and-go afternoon where people graze rather than sit.

Sorella’s

An Italian Eatery — 356 Laskin Road

Fresh pasta and family-style plates passed around the table.

Right for a seated lunch, and for a room with grandparents in it.

Questions

Before you
send the inquiry

Can we decorate in our own colours?

Yes. The room is deliberately neutral so it takes your palette rather than imposing one. Bring your own florals, banners and signage; we will talk through where things can hang on your tour.

Is the room good for games and opening gifts?

Yes. Because the floor plan is yours to set, you can leave an open middle for games and put the gift table wherever it works. Lounge groupings, rounds, or one long table all fit the same room.

Can you cater without alcohol?

Of course. Tell us when you inquire and we will build the menu around it — both kitchens next door can cater food only, or food with a bar, whichever suits the afternoon.

Where do guests park?

A public parking garage on 32nd Street sits directly behind the building, which makes the walk in short for guests carrying gifts.

How many guests does the room hold?

It depends on the setup — a seated lunch and a standing, grazing afternoon fit different numbers. Send your headcount with your inquiry and we will confirm the layout you have in mind works.
